Envelopes for Photo Wedding Cards

Many of our photo wedding cards come with envelopes. Here is everything you need to know about our envelopes. If we are wrong, and there is more you need to know, just contact us with your questions.

Price: Any card can come with envelopes or not. The price difference (any size or quantity) is $0.10 more for a card with envelopes. Extra envelopes (beyond those ordered with cards) are $0.15 each.

One Envelope: We only offer a single envelope to fit our wedding cards. This is because it is much less expensive (saves you money), and having two envelopes is unnecessary. The following is by Nina Callaway from About.com: "Traditionally, wedding invitations were sent in two envelopes so that they would remain pristine in spite of their journey. But since mail delivery has made much progress since the days of messengers and horses, you can save money by using only one envelope."

Colors: Envelopes are ether white or ecru (an off-white/ cream/ ivory color -- like this background color). 4x6" envelopes only are available in white. Why don't we offer other colors? For a couple reasons:

1) We couldn't hope to stock all of the hundreds of subtle colors people might want. Plus these colors (white and ecru) make 95% of our customers happy. Local paper stores are there to make the other 5% happy.

2) This is even a more important reason: these colors (white and ecru) accept addresses well. If you want red envelopes, then you probably have to use white labels for the addresses. Colored envelopes that are not pretty light in color will have to have white labels for the addresses. Otherwise the post office can't read them.

Flap Style: Our 5x7" envelopes are square-flap, as are our 4x6" envelopes. Our 3.5x5" envelopes are "v" flap, aka triangle flap.

Early Envelope Delivery: Another flexible option we provide is early envelope delivery. This is desirable if you want to hand-write addresses on your envelopes, and you want to get an early start on that. It does not make sense to do this if you select to have us print recipient addresses on the envelopes (more on Addressing Services at the bottom of this pricing information).

Early Envelope Delivery is a flat $10 shipping and handling fee (you still get free shipping on the invitations order when it is completed, but this additional shipping has this flat fee). There is also a maximum of 500 envelopes shipped early, but that should keep most hands busy addressing them. You pay the fee when you pay the deposit (you are sent to the depsosit page when you submit your order).

Envelope Printing:

We offer two types of address services: Labels and Envelope Printing. We also print two types of addresses: Return and Recipient.

Recipient Addresses (printing your guest list): We can print all of your guests' names and address for you! We can do it to on labels or on envelopes. Either way (labels or envelopes), we have strict guidelines for how you get the list to us. Other company's might charge you a set-up fee to print addresses from a guest list. We don't charge a set-up fee, because if you format the list correctly, we don't have extra work and headaches. However, for this reason, we will reject poorly formatted lists (if you fail to follow the guidelines). In that case, we will make you fix it so it complies to the formatting requirements. Again, we don't charge any set-up because we only accept correctly formatted lists.

Recipient (Guest) List Guidelines:

Recipient Addresses

If you are confused, or just scared to get it wrong, we can email you a correctly formatted file.

Labels: We print on white labels for orders with white envelopes, and "clear" (more like a frosty) for ecru envelopes. Labels with a return address. Labels (for recipient or return addresses) are $2.50 for each sheet of 30. These come in sheets, not on the envelope. You have to take them off of the sheets and stick them to the envelopes.

Envelope Printing: Envelope printing is priced at $0.15 per side, per envelope.

If you just need the return address printed, it is $0.15 per envelope.

If you also need the recipient addresses printed, it can be 1-Sided or 2-Sided. If you have the return address on the front of the envelope (along with the recipient addresses), it is 1-Sided.

If you have the return address printed on the back of the envelope and the recipient addresses printed on the front, it is 2-Sided printing. That translates into $0.30 per envelope.

RSVP Envelope Printing: This is also available. Again, it is $0.15 per side, per envelope. Normally your return address is printed as the recipient of the envelope. So it can be confusing to talk about the "return address" of an RSVP envelope because the address normally printed is your address so the cards can be returned to you.
