Photo Wedding Invitations - Retouching
We are experts at retouching! Your photo wedding announcements come with basic retouching, and these include:
Basic Retouching (free):
- Black and white conversion: This means complete conversion as well as partial conversion. The partial conversion on the left is an example of black and white areas with other portions having muted colors.
- Removal of blemishes: When the main picture of your annoucement prominently features your faces (like the second invitation to the left), you may want us to clean up your skin.
- Removing some objects: This may or may not qualify as free. You can ask, and we'll tell you. The problem is that whenever you take something out (which anyone can do), you have to replace it with detail that wasn't there (which many peolpe can't do). If the amount of detail that needs to be filled in is small, then it is probably free. A classic example is an electrical outlet on a wall. If you don't like the outlet, we can remove it and replace it with more blank wall. That is simple and basically no detail has to be replaced (just blank wall).
- Sharpening: Some images come to us a little blurry and fuzzy. We sharpen them as best we can, and enlarge those which are very small. However, sometimes we have to ask customers to send new photos if they are too fuzzy or small.
- Color optimizing: Some photos come to us that are blueish, green, or too much of one color. We color correct your images to optimize the color of your skin.
Advanced Retouching ($10.00 Flat Fee):
- Swapping heads: This is needed when you like your face on one photo, but your fiancee doesn't like their face. We can bring in a face from another photo.
- Removing background items: Sometimes your photographer didn't see that car or electrical box in the background, and you want it gone. This happens more often with photos like the bottom invitation.
- Most edits are quick, so it shouldn't be more than $10. However, if you want something done that is not reasonable, it may take more time and money. See note below:
A note about retouching: Many people have come to believe that Photoshop can do anything. This is not true - Photoshop is only as good as the person using it, and in the end, some retouching and photo editing isn't even plausible. The trick with photo editing is making it look like it wasn't edited at all. If you, for example, want us to combine two photos and they are taken with completely different angles, sizes and lighting conditions - then it might be nearly impossible to get them to become one seemless photo without spending hours on it.
So in the end we may tell you that what you have requested isn't possible.
You can contact us with any questions you have. We are even fine with looking over a photo you want to email us and telling you if we can do what you want.
